Laptop Charger Gets Really Hot When Charging

Is it normal that charger get too hot to touch within a use of almost 5 m.

Laptop charger gets really hot when charging. Hi i bought an hp laptop with core i3 processor and windows 8 os in sept 2013. So if your laptops charger is only mildly moderately hot to the touch then chances are everything is okay. Is this a problem. Hi there i m a newbie here so apologies in advance if this question has been answered before.

In my opinion next move. I have recently bought a asus laptop r704a and the charger gets really hot when charging and also if it is just plugged in to the electricity supply. This did not happen with my previous laptop charger. When a laptop is plugged in and turned on you will notice the adapter may be warm to the touch.

We are concerned that the charger to this new laptop gets very hot and often lies on a vinyl floor against soft furnishings and furniture that it may be the sorce of combustion so we are only charging the laptop while we are present. However if the adapter is quite hot enough that it could hurt your hand after touching it for a few seconds there could be a serious issue. Xps 13 9360 charger brick get too hot while charging help. If you notice that your laptop battery charger plug feels hot to the touch you should know that as long as it s not so hot that it burns you or has a funny smell it s a completely normal reaction to the electricity being transferred from the charger to the computer. From a month or two i am noticing that whenever i charge my laptop ithe charger get very hot. Still in some cases an overheated charger is the sign of a problem. A relatively warm power adapter is normal especially when the laptop is in use while the battery is charging.
