Charger Light Turns Off When Connected To Laptop

I noticed my batter icon said plugged in not charging so i looked at my adapter and oddly enough the mains light was off but when i unplugged it from laptop it came back on.

Charger light turns off when connected to laptop. The ac adapter resets if you unplug it but the laptop will not turn on. Anyway turns out it was my external dvd cd reader i unplugged it shut down my system waited a few minutes and rebooted and everything is back to normal. Sometimes it ll be above the keyboard other times it ll be on the side or back of the. But power led indicator is not proper work.

The ac adapter turns off blue light turns off and laptop does not turn on is a common problem. And the remove the plug from laptop and connect the cord again led light is normal condition. Btw all ratings on the chargers are the same and so is the plug. Charger works fine so i m thinking my friend s charger is ok. Please give me some comment if you have same. To confirm whether the laptop is charging check for charging lights.

First clean the laptop motherboard. What is that problem and what shall i do. You can contact dell tech support if your laptop is in warranty and they can replace it. If you have tried two different power supplies and both behave the same charger light goes off when plugging into the laptop then it s more likely something is wrong with the mainboard or any other device that is connected to it short circuit if you have easy access to cdrom drive hard drive and memory modules disconnect remove them but i won t give you much hope mainboard screen or power.
